About
What happens when a local femme with no secrets meets an international butch with no brakes? Magic!
Rachel High (No Strings Attached, Adelaide) and Julie McNamara (Vital Xposure, London) brought their groundbreaking queer disability collaboration to London in 2009. This bold, unapologetic performance challenges expectations and celebrates identity through the story of two sisters reuniting after years apart—one returning from prison, the other hiding cruel family secrets about their mother’s solitary life.
One has Down Syndrome, the other a brain injury and a seriously checkered past. Together, they created a performance that celebrates queer disability identity with humor, heart, and unflinching honesty. This international collaboration between No Strings Attached and Vital Xposure was supported by Arts Council England and the Richard Llewellyn Arts and Disability Trust.
