Re-Touched
.. touched in the head ... touched in the heart ..
- 3rd -13th March 1999
- 253 Grenfell Street Adelaide, TANDANYA National Aboriginal Cultural Institute
No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability proudly presented Retouched (1999)—the fully realised remount of our acclaimed work-in-progress Touched, which sold out at the inaugural High Beam Festival in 1998.
This ambitious promenade production invited audiences on an immersive theatrical journey through three galleries of Tandanya, National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, unfolding around them with music, movement, and striking visual storytelling.
With 21 performers on stage, Retouched showcased the extraordinary creative strength of No Strings’ ensemble. Led by director PJ Rose, with lyrics by company artists Abner Bradley, Jane Muras, Pat Rix, Andrew Leach, and PJ Rose, the production embodied our commitment to collaborative theatre-making that amplifies diverse voices and shared creative ownership.
Bold, culturally resonant, and visually unforgettable, Retouched marked a milestone in our artistic evolution—honouring community, challenging perceptions, and transforming important conversations into living, moving theatre.
