Joyful Street Theatre at DreamBIG Festival

No Strings Theatre Of Disability brought spontaneous joy to North Terrace during DreamBIG Children’s Festival 2019 with Not All Who Wander Are Lost, a roving street improvisation that transformed Adelaide’s Cultural Boulevard into an unexpected stage.
Over the Big Family Weekend (May 25-26, 2019), twelve No Strings performers delighted festival crowds with playful improvisational theatre, creating magical moments of connection as they wandered through the bustling outdoor celebration.
The morning team (Anton, Damien, Duncan, Josh, Paddy, and Ryan) performed at 10:00-10:30am and 11:30am-12:00pm, while the afternoon team (Corey, Jack, Kathryn, Kym, Mathew, and Ricky) took over with performances at 1:30-2:00pm and 3:00-3:30pm.

This roving format allowed performers to interact spontaneously with children and families, breaking down traditional barriers between stage and audience. The result was inclusive theatrical moments that embodied DreamBIG Festival’s spirit of imagination, play, and accessibility. Not All Who Wander Are Lost demonstrated No Strings’ commitment to bringing professional performance directly to diverse community audiences in unexpected spaces, proving that theatre can happen anywhere when creativity and joy lead the way.
