He Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

2016: Creative Development

About

“He loves me, She loves me not is all about relationships: isolation, separation, community perceptions and taboos. Its an exploration of relationships and disability. A lot of our participants dream of having a relationship in their lives, having a partner, some dream about getting married while others wish they could be parents.  The single scene can be hard for all of us but when you have a disability it becomes even harder.

This piece seeks to tackle questions like: How do people with disability create meaningful connections and relationships? How do they fulfill their needs as adults? What is the role of disability in sexuality (and vice versa)? And what about love and understanding and vulnerability? What is the role of society in supporting and helping to navigate all of this?
