30 Year Retrospective Exhibition

No Strings Attached Theatre Of Disability celebrated three decades of groundbreaking work with a comprehensive retrospective exhibition at Hart’s Mill, Port Adelaide, running throughout August 2024 as part of the SALA Festival.

We are delighted to acknowledge the generous financial support for our 4-week ‘residency’ at Hart’s Mill, provided by The City of Port Adelaide Enfield through their Community Grant program.

A Journey Through Three Decades
The exhibition showcased No Strings’ rich history through engaging displays of photographs and multimedia installations that chronicled the company’s evolution and impact on the arts community since founder Helen Flinter-Leach established the company in 1994. The evening featured the successful launch of our first-ever publication, Fearless. Limitless. Boundless., which captured the remarkable journey of artists who have redefined inclusive theatre

The exhibition featured a dynamic program of live performances and screenings, including:

Saturday 3 August
3pm: Official opening with performance of FIRE from ‘Floods of Fire’ (Adelaide Festival)
5pm-8pm: MELTfest event featuring Dr PJ Rose & Leonie Ebert-Smith with No Strings performers (panel 6pm-7pm)
Sunday 4 August – 3pm: Screening of Tom the Loneliest (2009)
Saturday 10 August – 3pm: Performance by the No Strings News Crew
Sunday 11 August – 3pm: Screening of Sons & Mothers documentary (2012)
Saturday 17 August – 3pm: Screening of My Stories Matter (2023)
Sunday 18 August – 3pm: Official closing event with performance of Security (2024)
