About
We’re embarking on an exciting creative journey at No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability with 2connect—a new development exploring one of life’s biggest challenges: truly connecting with another person.
The Challenge We’re Exploring How do we connect in a world full of barriers? For many of us—especially those of us with disabilities—everyday obstacles like transport, physical access, or simply being different can make connection feel impossible. Without the means to connect, isolation becomes the reality. 2connect asks: what if our theatre could break down those walls?
Four Partnerships. Four Realities. Infinite Possibilities. We’re partnering four of South Australia’s most creative theatre practitioners with four of our company members to craft dynamic duets that explore connection in completely different ways:
- A housing estate where neighbours become strangers
- A dream where anything is possible
- A lock-up where connection means survival
- The outback where isolation is the landscape
From Workshop to Stage Through collaborative experimentation, each pair is discovering their own theatrical language—comedy, cabaret, drama, dance with film. Four unique approaches. One powerful question: how do we truly see each other?
Why This Matters “We’re creating something audiences haven’t seen before,” says our Artistic Director PJ Rose. “These duets will take you on a journey of transformation from one imaginative reality to another. This is theatre that’s raw, real, and necessary.”
Join Us on the Journey Creative developments like 2connect are where our magic begins—where ideas collide, where we take risks, where something entirely new starts to breathe. This is your rare opportunity to witness our theatre in its most honest form: still emerging, still discovering, still full of possibility.
Coming in 2006 2connect will premiere at the Adelaide Fringe 2006 at Higher Ground, Inc. But our journey starts now, in the workshop room, where connection is becoming art.
