Amplify 2024

No Strings Theatre Of Disability’s annual end-of-year showcase, AMPLIFY 2024, celebrated International Day of People with Disability with three exceptional new works that demonstrated the extraordinary collaborative artistry developed throughout the year.

Presented once again at the State Opera South Australia Rehearsal Studio with generous venue support from SOSA, AMPLIFY 2024 showcased ALL of our participants and the high-quality work they created in collaboration with our theatre artists and three outstanding guest directors.

SECURITY Created by Theatrics with guest director Catherine Purling, this powerful work challenged audiences to question their assumptions about others. Through compelling storytelling, SECURITY explored the judgments we make based on appearances and encouraged viewers to look beyond first impressions to discover the deeper stories beneath.

AM I HERE? Developed by Troupe under guest director Roel Voorbij’s direction, this production examined the concept of care and compassionate gestures. With delicate storytelling, AM I HERE? explored questions of empathy and selflessness, asking: Is it easier to give care or receive it?

COPE: SENSITIVE FREIGHT Created by Studio with guest director Hew Parham, this clown-inspired piece satirically examined the self-care industry and our modern pursuit of wellness. Drawing on Jacques Tati and Roy Andersson’s styles, this quirky production humorously explored how stress-reduction activities can sometimes leave us feeling more frazzled than before.
